The Henrico County Board of Supervisors approved June amendments to the FY2026 annual fiscal plan on June 9 that amend the budget in total by $55.6 million, according to the county's budget director.
Budget Director Crawford told the board the package includes $38.2 million in operating amendments (including $11.5 million to cover overtime costs for public-safety agencies), $8.6 million for the school system, and $5 million in unbudgeted hotel-motel tax receipts. The Children's Services Act line received $7.4 million in requested funding, of which $2.7 million is the local share. Within the capital budget, the board record shows $17.4 million in amendments, of which nearly $15 million is federal grant funding under the Safe Streets and Roads for All program to support pedestrian improvements countywide; the capital package also includes $1.4 million to replace Engine 310.
After the public hearing and brief questions from supervisors, the board moved and approved the budget amendments by voice vote. A member of the public asked for clarification about an accounting reclassification of recycling program charges; staff responded that an adjustment would be made in year-end reporting and that the amendments presented are for the current fiscal year.
