Hollins tied Juneteenth to ongoing fights for equity and representation and urged continued community engagement.
Several councilmembers asked to cosponsor the resolution and praised the event; Councilman Tackett called Hollins' remarks "very moving and powerful." There was no public comment on the item and the council adopted R26-122 by roll call (12 yes, 1 absent).
