Arts & Culture Commission elects officers, approves minutes and sets 2026 meeting dates

Whitpain Township — At its Jan. 28 reorganization meeting, the Whitpain Township Arts & Culture Commission elected Nicole Sheftic chair, Nilza Lozado vice chair and Heather Dougherty secretary, each by a 3-0 vote, and approved the minutes of Sept. 25, 2025.
Township Manager Eric Traub opened the meeting at 5 p.m. and recorded attendance; Supervisor Liaison Kimberly Klauder, Assistant Township Manager David Mrochko and student representative Harper DeWitt attended along with commission members. Ms. Dougherty moved to approve the Sept. 25, 2025 minutes; Chair Nicole Sheftic seconded the motion, which carried.
In officer elections, Ms. Dougherty nominated Nicole Sheftic for chair; the nomination was seconded by Nilza Lozado and carried by a 3-0 vote. Chair Sheftic then nominated Nilza Lozado for vice chair (seconded by Ms. Dougherty), and nominated Heather Dougherty for secretary (seconded by Ms. Lozado); both nominations carried by 3-0 votes.
Mr. Traub announced the commission's 2026 meeting dates: March 25, June 24 and Sept. 23 (all fourth Wednesdays). With no further business, Chair Sheftic adjourned the meeting at 5:35 p.m. Heather Dougherty signed the minutes as secretary.
