Residents ask for livestreaming and change to clothing-donation bins; supervisors supportive

During public comment at the May 7 meeting, Linda Rhodes urged the Allegheny Township Board of Supervisors to videotape or live-stream meetings to increase public access. Vice‑Chairman Pollick said he would like BOS meetings available online.
Ed Newell of Markle VFD asked the board about changing clothing-donation bins and indicated an alternative collection bin is available at the firehall; Supervisors Korns and Morabito expressed support for changing bins if agreements with current bin owners are not reached. Supervisor Korns said he would support a change to benefit the Fire Department.
The board did not take a formal vote on either livestreaming or the clothing-bin arrangements at the meeting, but supervisors encouraged residents to provide models or additional information and directed staff to follow up as needed.
Announcements at the meeting included the 2025 Allegheny Township Farmers Market schedule (May 18; June 22; July 20; Aug. 17; Sept. 14; Oct. 12 at Kiski Garden Plaza and Feed Center) and a volunteer fire-department meeting/cookout on May 19 at the Lions Pavilion; members were asked to RSVP.
