City planning staff recommended continuing an air‑monitoring contract with Trinity Consultants to operate six monitoring sites in Paramount for ambient air quality surveillance.
Planning staff said the program began with five sites and expanded to six in May 2024; monitoring results are posted publicly (paramountengagement.org) with staff and consultants providing timely notification if unusual readings appear. The proposed contract covers a 12‑month period and is not to exceed $162,900, according to the staff report.
John King (Planning) told the council they value quick communication from the contractor and noted an incident where staff were informed promptly about monitoring results. “Estamos satisfechos con el trabajo que han hecho... y queremos continuar esta asociación,” he said, recommending the one‑year renewal.
Council approved the contract; staff will continue to publish monitoring results and maintain a schedule of analyses and community notifications.
