The Paramount City Council on June 9 approved a one‑year consulting agreement with Trinity Consultants to continue the city’s air monitoring program. Planning and Building Director John King presented the item and described the monitoring network and contract terms.
King told the council the city operates its own samplers at six locations — including sites near schools — and that the network was expanded in May 2024 with an additional site at Garfield and Jackson. He said the primary community concern prompting the program is possible spikes in hexavalent chromium and that Trinity provides measurement, reporting and quarterly in‑person briefings.
"The contract will not exceed $162,900," King said. He added that Trinity posts results on the city’s Paramount Environment site every six days and that the consultant’s manager of measurements and monitoring, Randall Baxter, makes himself available to discuss any spikes or concerns.
Council moved and approved the agreement by roll call.
