Council confirms annual landscaping assessments for District 81‑1; assessment unchanged

Public Works Director Adriana Figueroa briefed the Paramount City Council on June 9 regarding Landscape Maintenance Assessment District 81‑1, an industrial park north of Rosecrans encompassing streets including Wolf Wall, Hallway and Derby Drive.
Figueroa said the City Engineer’s report follows the Landscape and Lighting Maintenance Act of 1972 and includes cost estimates, plans and a diagram for the district. She reported the FY26 assessment was $14,200 and that the FY27 assessment will remain at the same level; staff said the assessment will be spread among 29 parcels in the district.
No written or in‑person opposition was received during the public hearing. Council closed the hearing and adopted resolution 26022 to confirm the diagram and levy the assessment.
"This assessment will remain at the same level," Figueroa said, summarizing staff’s recommendation to adopt the resolution.
The motion to adopt resolution 26022 passed on roll call with Councilmember Lemmons, Vice Mayor Claire Stallings and Mayor Olmos recorded as voting yes.
