Caroline County pledges up to $2.5 million local match for I‑95 Exit 110 interchange improvements

Board members were told Phase 1 of the project is estimated at roughly $14 million and would include signal work, ramp relocation and striping; the Senator’s request would require a 20% local match, not to exceed $2.5 million. Supervisor Nancy L. Long moved to adopt Resolution R‑15/26 committing to matching funds up to $2.5 million contingent upon receipt of the federal award; Supervisor Floyd W. Thomas seconded and the Board approved the resolution unanimously.
The resolution authorizes the County to support the application for Congressionally Directed funding with matching funds not to exceed $2,500,000 if the federal award is made. The Board did not appropriate funds at this meeting; the commitment is conditional on receipt of the federal award.
