Craig Bertz was elected president of the Mukwonago School District board after a nomination and an 8–0 show-of-hands vote during the board’s reorganization meeting. Board members Jason, Mike, Jake, Jim, Eric, Caroline, Greg and Crosby voted in favor.
The vote came early in the meeting as the board addressed a vacant president’s seat. The acting presiding member explained that the district is required to reorganize and elect officers annually and that a majority of present members (five of eight) is needed to elect a president. Bertz was nominated, confirmed that he would serve, and received unanimous support. Because the incoming president was not previously an officer, the board did not hold separate votes for vice president, treasurer or clerk that night.
