Speaker 6 moved to accept the May 14 minutes with corrections and the board approved the motion. Later, after discussion about members' summer availability and quorum concerns, the board approved a motion to skip the July trustees meeting while allowing subcommittees to meet as needed.
The director told trustees the library received an Excellence in Community Collaboration Award from the Connecticut Land Conservation Council for a program with the Land Trust and reported summer events including a "Plant a Seed, Read" kickoff on June 19 (5–7 p.m.) with family activities, and several successful teen and children's programs. The Friends group will share costs on the summer reading kickoff and is organizing book-sale logistics and a reading-room scholarship.
Finance and governance committee reports noted the current budget year is on track and that trustee self-evaluations and director evaluations should be completed. Trustees also agreed that members Evelyn and Shay will represent the library at an 8 Mile River watershed community feedback session on Monday, June 29.
The meeting ended with no public speakers and the chair moving to adjourn.
