Goshen County awarded $2.714 million in impact funds; commissioners approve local grant applications

Goshen County commissioners on Jan. 6 accepted an Impact Funding award of $2,714,387 from the Industrial Siting Commission and approved local grant-related actions to deploy portions of those funds in the county.
County Grant Writer Hannah Fullmer told the Board the county’s Impact Funding award will primarily benefit local fire districts. The Board moved to accept Fullmer’s report and adopted two grant resolutions authorizing Wyoming Community Gas grant applications for the county library and the fairgrounds (Resolutions 2026-01 and 2026-02).
Commissioners and county staff credited preparatory work by Fullmer, Fire Warden Thom Bozeman and County Attorney Eric Boyer in supporting the county’s funding request. Chairman Michael McNamee and the commissioners unanimously approved the grant applications and accepted the Impact Funding announcement at the meeting.
The meeting record shows the Board also approved related administrative steps and accepted the grant writer’s monthly activity report, which lists pending and submitted grant applications and collaborations with county departments.
The county did not specify exact dollar allocations by fire district in the meeting record beyond the overall $2,714,387 award. The Board did not take a final spending allocation vote at the Jan. 6 meeting; staff and commissioners indicated the funds will be used to support fire districts’ needs as projects and disbursement plans are finalized.
