The staff report noted that current cost estimates have risen since the original grant and that the city’s current estimated obligation is about $567,000 higher than budgeted; staff said they will pursue additional grant funding from the Mid‑Ohio Regional Planning Commission and may amend the capital budget once bids are received.
Staff also confirmed that the city will be predominantly responsible for maintaining the new bridge structure that carries the shared‑use path over the freeway.
The council voted 7–0 to adopt the resolution.
