Elbert County to discuss Shepherd Solar fee agreement at July meeting after executive-session review

The Elbert County Board of County Commissioners voted on June 10 to bring a redlined draft of a proposed fee agreement with Shepherd Solar to a regular meeting in July for public discussion.
County legal counsel Lance Ingalls told the board the county has been "having [a] discussion with Shepherd Solar about a fee agreement should their land use get approved." He said staff had reviewed a draft and some redlines and sought direction about moving the document into the public meeting process.
A commissioner moved that the board bring the redline copy discussed in executive session forward to a regular meeting in July for discussion of the proposed Shepherd Solar fee agreement. Another commissioner seconded the motion; the board recorded three affirmative votes and the motion carried.
The chair also noted there were no land-use hearings scheduled for that day's meeting. The motion does not itself approve any agreement; it directs staff to place the redlined document on a public agenda for a future meeting so the county and community can discuss the proposal.
