Richfield issues Juneteenth proclamation and honors local Special Olympics qualifier

Mayor Supple invited Weederhalt and her mother to the front for a photo; the proclamation encouraged residents to support the Special Olympics through volunteering and attendance at the Games.
Council members closed the meeting with community notes: a city "summer kickoff" was scheduled for June 10 at the municipal center and Heredia Park; the Veterans Park pool was announced to open June 12; and members congratulated graduating seniors and thanked community partners for events and outreach.
No votes were required for the proclamations; they were read as ceremonial items and the council moved on to consent and business items.
