The Board approved an updated intergovernmental agreement with the Regional Emergency Trauma Advisory Council (RETAC) to extend the term from two to four years and accepted notification of a CDOT grant award of $170,000 to support Stop the Bleed boxes for county buildings.
RETAC Director Reyna Martinez-Ramirez described May 21 National Stop the Bleed activities and credited the County Public Health Department for leading staff training across departments. Martinez-Ramirez said RETAC staff have worked on securing funding to purchase and mount the boxes in county facilities; the CDOT award was smaller than requested but welcomed given competitive grant demand.
Commissioners approved the updated IGA by motion (Laske/Van Ry); the motion passed unanimously. County staff will coordinate procurement and mounting of boxes in county buildings and track grant reporting requirements.
