Hudson County board introduces several ordinances and adopts a Union City traffic restriction

The Hudson County Board of County Commissioners took several procedural actions during its May 14 meeting.
County administration introduced an ordinance authorizing the county to guarantee payment of principal and interest on bonds up to $6,000,000 for bonds issued by the Hudson County Improvement Authority. Commissioners consented to introduce the ordinance for later consideration.
The board also introduced an ordinance to amend the administrative code to establish traffic-calming devices on JFK Boulevard and Sipp Avenue in Jersey City and an ordinance providing for installation of stop signs on county-owned roadways in Hoboken; both were introduced for future hearings.
On a separate item, the board conducted the advertised public hearing for a second-reading ordinance that would install a 'no right turn' sign from westbound 32nd Street to eastbound 30th Street (South Marginal Highway) in Union City. There were no speakers on that ordinance; the board voted to adopt the ordinance on final reading.
Commissioners also scheduled a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the 2026 Hudson County budget for June 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the commissioners' chambers.
