Gretna Arbor Society celebrates Arbor Day, poster-contest winners and spring planting

The Arbor Day program on April 24 at Falling Water Elementary School included a noon planting of a bald cypress by volunteers; Mayor Evans read a proclamation and students from all grades attended, with several students reading poems.
Board members characterized the events as successful outreach and noted no major follow-up decisions beyond continuing community engagement and volunteer recruitment for future plantings and events.
