Williston awards $855,540 landfill final-cover contract despite budget gap

Bergstrom proposed covering the $155,540.29 gap by adjusting engineering Task Order 25-1 so the project can proceed this year. Commissioner James Bervig moved to award the contract; Commissioners Brad Bekkedahl, Victoria Siemieniewski, Bervig and Vice President Tate Cymbaluk voted in favor (Howard Klug was absent). The motion carried 4–0.
The commission's action authorizes staff to finalize the contract with Martin Construction and proceed with the work under the amended task order funding approach. No additional public testimony or alternative funding sources were recorded during the meeting.
Next steps include executing the contract and scheduling the project work; the commission did not set additional conditions on the award during the meeting.
