Frankfort waives small permit fees for ADA repairs and recognizes community donations to help injured resident

Building services staffer Rob summarized permit activity and asked the board to waive the $25 permit fee for correction work at 401 West South Street, to waive a $25 fee for crosswalk/ADA work at Prairie Creek Park (260 East Washington Street), and to waive a $25 fee for finishing concrete work related to an ADA sidewalk project at 656 Glendale Drive. Each waiver was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
Rob described the 656 Glendale Drive project as largely completed through donated time and materials from multiple contractors and volunteers, with only the concrete remaining to be finished by Campos Construction. "The only thing we have left to do is the concrete work in front of the house," he said, and he asked the board to waive the $25 fee in recognition of the donated labor and materials. He said the family has requested a meet-and-greet with the mayor, the board and volunteers when scheduling allows.
The board also retroactively approved handicap parking signage placed at 656 Glendale Drive so the space can be enforced.
What happens next: the fee waivers were recorded as approved; staff will coordinate the remaining concrete work and a recognition event for donors once logistics are set.
