Mary Shaw was elected chair of the Eastham Community Preservation Committee during a reorganization vote at the committee’s June 10 meeting.
Dan nominated Shaw for chair and Janet seconded. Shaw accepted the nomination, and members recorded a vote of six in favor. Joanna was nominated to continue as clerk until she leaves the committee later this year; Joanna said she expects this month will be her last meeting because she is stepping down from an open-space committee role. Joanna was confirmed by voice vote. Dan was nominated by Joanna and confirmed to continue as vice chair.
The changes were taken early in the agenda to accommodate members who might leave the meeting early. Committee members discussed continuity for annual-report duties and noted that staff (Kristen and Paul) have been assisting with the clerk’s paperwork. The committee agreed that if Joanna departs before her term ends they will nominate a replacement at that time.
The new officers will serve for the upcoming fiscal year. The committee also confirmed its calendar for 2026–27 and said it will send schedules to members by email.
