Councilor Dan Butler told the Sequim City Council on June 8 that the Jamestown Healing Clinic is expanding services and preparing a 16‑bed behavioral health inpatient facility.
Butler said the clinic has 295 patients, an 11% increase from the last quarter, with 45 new enrollments and 42 discharges (mostly successful completions). He said 79% of patients come from Clallam County, 14 patients are known to be unhoused and about 30% report housing instability. The clinic’s mobile unit has seen a 60% increase in visits compared with the previous quarter; Butler said 144 patients rely on the mobile unit for services.
Butler said the new 16‑bed inpatient facility is nearing completion: the executive director hopes for an occupancy permit by the end of the month, plans to begin moving furniture in July, hire staff in August and September, and accept the first patients in October. He praised clinic staff and city coordination for permitting and inspection support.
No formal council action was taken; the report was presented as a committee update.
