Commissioners press staff for follow-up after council denies flume-related land-use amendment

At the end of the May 13 meeting the Planning & Zoning Commission raised several items of commissioner interest, including a recent City Council denial of a future land use amendment related to a flume/priest-trees question.
Commissioner Maria Fishbach said several commissioners had attended a regional ACOG planning workshop and asked staff to circulate the workshop materials; staff confirmed the packet would be added to the commission SharePoint library. Commissioner Dr. Brown asked for clarification about the council's denial and staff recommended an individual follow-up because the zoning and flume questions involved technical distinctions and a longer record.
Staff also reported that the future land use plan amendment for the "priest trees" was denied by council and that Unified Development Code module two is under staff review. No formal action was taken on these items; staff agreed to provide a fuller update to the commission in a future staff report.
