The New Albany Planning Commission approved a final development plan and a related conditional-use permit that will allow a Wright Patt bank with three ATM drive‑through lanes on a 1.11‑acre site.
Planning staff said the 2,806‑square‑foot bank would be accessed from Woodcrest Way and Johnstown Road with two curb cuts; staff recommended conditions including alignment of a private drive to match an adjacent Panda Express, a safer pedestrian connection across the access drive, added on-site trees to meet lot-coverage requirements and a reorientation so the primary door faces Johnstown Road. The commission also admitted the staff reports into the record.
David Blair of Shrimp Shark Architects, speaking for the applicant, said the team was comfortable accepting the staff conditions and would return with revised plans addressing orientation and other comments. The commission voted 4-0 to approve FDP 37 20 24 based on staff findings, and separately approved CU 43 20 24 to permit the drive‑throughs, conditioning the conditional use on approval of the final development plan.
Next steps: Applicant to submit revised plans addressing staff and city-architect comments and to satisfy engineering checklists prior to building-permit submittal. The conditional use remains effective only if the approved final development plan is implemented.
