Council approves Bransum Paving task order for FY27 resurfacing and parking-lot repairs

Separately, staff presented a quote from Bransum to resurface the main and staff parking lots at the community center for $163,149.50; with a 10% contingency the not-to-exceed amount is $179,464.50. Staff said the parking-lot work fits within the originally intended FY26/27 budget lines for public parking repairs.
During discussion council members asked about sequencing—particularly delaying paving on Manassas Drive while adjacent theater construction is ongoing—and staff said they can defer high‑risk segments until construction traffic subsides. Odell said carrying the FY26 remainder forward and using the additional-streets capital line would leave roughly $190,000 available after these projects, depending on final invoicing and contingency use.
