Buellton council adopts annual water supply report required by Central Coast Water Authority

The Buellton City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved Resolution No. 26‑09 to publish the city’s annual water supply report required by the Central Coast Water Authority.
Public Works Director Rose Hess told the council the report updates water use from the prior year and forecasts near-term consumption under steady growth assumptions. “We haven’t any new spikes or any issues,” Hess said, recommending the council adopt the resolution and place the report on the public works web page as Exhibit A to the resolution.
The council opened the public hearing and received no public comments. After brief staff Q&A, Council Member Lewis moved to adopt Resolution No. 26‑09; the motion was seconded and passed with Lewis, Sanchez, Hornick, Vice Mayor Me and Mayor Silva voting yes.
Why it matters: the publication satisfies the city’s reporting obligations to the Central Coast Water Authority and updates residents and regional partners on local State Water Project accounting and near-term demand projections. The city will publish the report online for continuous public review.
