Staff reviewed two other items for the upcoming commission meeting: a quasi-judicial special-exception request for an auto repair use on Commercial Boulevard, and a preview of a public-art presentation for Inspiration Way.
Moderator introduced a special-exception application for an automotive mechanic shop in the plaza on the east side of the city near the Savvy Sliders location. Kent summarized that the proposal is to replace an existing automotive audio repair shop with a minor mechanic operation and said neighborhood-specific requirements for buffering and screening are already in place. "It should go relatively smooth," Kent said, and staff indicated there would be no discussion at the staff review because the matter is quasi-judicial.
On public art, Kent and the moderator said consultant George Gadsden will present eight proposed art pieces in a PowerPoint, with six pieces needed to fill vacancies along Inspiration Way.
Both items were described as scheduled for the commission meeting; no votes or formal decisions occurred during the staff agenda review.
