Pennsauken board advances multiple policy revisions and eliminates certain COVID-era rules

The Pennsauken Township Board of Education on May 12 advanced a number of policy items and readings and moved to abolish several policies that originated during the COVID-19 response.
Items on the agenda included a first reading of R1552 (Sexual Harassment — Staff); revisions and first reading of P1220 (Employment of Chief School Administrator) and R2510 (Adoption of Textbooks); second readings for P1552 and P2535 and R2535 (Library Material); second readings of revisions to P0142.1 (Nepotism), P2530 (Resource Materials) and related regulations; and first readings to abolish P1648.11 (The Road Forward COVID-19 – Health and Safety), P1648.13 (School Employee Vaccination Requirements) and R3244 (In-Service Training). Mrs. Hutton, chair of the policy committee, reported that the committee moved several first readings and assigned sections of board policy norms to committee members for review.
The policy items were included in the consent agenda approved by the board; adoption or final enactment where required will follow the district’s policy-adoption rules and any specified second-reading requirements.
