The Pennsauken Township Board of Education on May 12 approved a broad slate of personnel recommendations for the 2026–27 school year, including administrators, principals, supervisors, teachers, counselors, therapists, nurses, educational assistants, food-service workers, custodial and transportation staff.
Among the agenda items, the board recommended approval of an employment contract for James Nesmith as Assistant Superintendent of Per Pupil Personnel (Student Services & Special Populations) for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027; the contract was reviewed and approved by the Camden County Executive Superintendent on May 5, 2026 as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-3.1. The agenda also named multiple new and reassigned principals, supervisors and administrators and contained extensive lists of instructional and support staff recommended for hire or reappointment.
The board authorized summer staffing and pay arrangements for the Extended School Year (ESY) program and summer food-distribution and van-driver roles; summer pay rates and not-to-exceed hour limits were provided in the packet. Several hires and start dates were listed as contingent upon fingerprint criminal-history review, certification, PPD or physical examination. Leaves, resignations and sell-back of vacation days for retiring or departing employees were also on the consent agenda.
These personnel and appointment items were approved as part of the board’s consent motion (agenda items 2–61) moved by Mr. McDevitt and seconded by Mr. Carey; the motion carried.
