Trustees discussed linking the plan to open‑enrollment guidance, called for annual rather than multi‑year reviews of the document, and asked administration to clarify where certain operational policies (for example, open‑enrollment prioritization for employees’ children) should appear. Several trustees also urged stronger connections to career and workforce partners; trustees recommended exploring programs such as Build Montana and employer apprenticeship pathways to expand postsecondary options.
The board approved the strategic plan update as presented and directed staff to circulate the live document for final edits and to return progress updates in future meetings.
