Westfield council opens hearings on Preserve at Coal Creek (23.6 acres) and Lakes at Ironstone (237 acres) annexations

The Westfield Common Council held and closed public hearings on two voluntary annexation requests but did not adopt either ordinance at the June meeting.
Kevin Todd, community development director, presented the Preserve at Coal Creek Phase 4 annexation, describing it as roughly 23.6 acres located on the west side of Grassy Branch Road. Todd said the item had been properly advertised and that the ordinance could be eligible for adoption at the council's second June meeting when accompanied by an appropriate fiscal plan.
Todd then described the Lakes at Ironstone annexation request, the first phase of a larger development covering roughly 237 acres on the west side of Six Points Road south of 206th Street. He said the annexation was also noticed for public hearing and will return for consideration with a fiscal plan at a subsequent council meeting; the public hearing for this item opened at 7:19 p.m. and closed at 7:20 p.m.
The council took no formal votes on the annexation ordinances at this meeting. Staff indicated that adoption would be considered at a future meeting and that a fiscal plan would be provided at that time.
