At its Dec. 10 meeting the Shiawassee County Board of Commissioners approved a package of routine and consent items, including advisory committee appointments, contract renewals, health department service contracts and several information-technology purchases.
The board approved Resolution #25-12-20 confirming the chairman’s recommended appointments to county advisory boards and commissions, including Julie MacKay for the Airport Board and other members with terms beginning Jan. 1, 2026. The board also approved the 2026 county holiday schedule and meeting calendar.
On contracts and procurement, the board approved the annual renewal with ZixArchive not to exceed $11,029.66 and adopted the county CDBG Procurement Policy to comply with grant requirements. The board approved a medical examiner contract with Sparrow Hospital Association subject to revisions by county legal counsel.
IT and software purchases approved included 155 Microsoft Office Business licenses not to exceed $37,306.95 and VMware software not to exceed $25,423.20; the motions carried as recorded. The board accepted a tentative AFSCME wage re-opener agreement for FY2026. For public health services, the board approved a contract with ALZY Environmental Service, LLC for registered sanitarian services at $41 per hour (average 24 hours per week), a medical director contract with Dr. Dennis Chernin for $41,250 for 2026, and billing services with Debra Bebow at $30 per hour.
Most consent items carried on recorded roll-call votes that were unanimous where noted. The meeting concluded with standard administrative announcements and adjournment at 6:03 p.m.
