The City of San Gabriel Community Services Commission selected new leadership during its regular meeting.
Following an open call for nominations, Commissioner Dong nominated Vice Chair Rodriguez for chair; Rodriguez accepted and, with no other nominations, was declared selected as chair by acclamation. "Hearing none, I close the floor to nominations and declare that Commissioner Rodriguez is selected as chair by acclamation," the presiding officer stated.
Commissioners then nominated and accepted Commissioner Shing for vice chair and instated her by acclamation. Staff had outlined the selection process in advance: if only one nominee accepts, the commission would nominate by acclamation; if multiple nominees were accepted, the commission would proceed to a vote in nomination order.
No formal roll‑call vote was required for the leadership selections because both positions were filled by acclamation. The commission completed the reorganization before moving to program and budget discussion items.
