The Central City Council advanced and resolved several land‑use and administrative items on the agenda.
Staff introduced PNZ items for public hearing on June 23, including Z260000002 (rezoning 4.23 acres at 9821 Jor Road from Rural Agricultural to B1) and Z260000003 (rezoning 1.5 acres at 12332 Jaw Road from R2 to B1). The commission recommended approval for Z260000002 with a stipulation that the rear of the lot cannot be used for commercial purposes; Z260000003 was recommended for denial.
An ordinance (T2600002) to amend the unified development code to allow swimming pools in a sideyard — and related technical changes — was presented and recommended for approval by the commission.
Separately, the council authorized the mayor to sign a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Baton Ridge Water Company; the motion passed on roll call.
These actions advance several land‑use items to the public hearing schedule and finalize administrative agreements needed for city services.
