Ridgeway board hears Route 104 speed‑limit update, solar farm inspection and department reports

Supervisor Brian Napoli told the Town of Ridgeway board on July 15 that he has contacted Senator Ortt and Assemblyman Hawley regarding a proposed speed‑limit change on Route 104 between Marshall Road and the Hamlet of Jeddo and that Senator Ortt’s office has responded. Napoli also reported the State Department of Transportation has posted "No Parking" signs on the south shoulder near 10858 Ridge Road.
Code Enforcement Officer Jason Raduns reported issuance of five building permits in June, one closed permit, several violation letters for high grass and property maintenance, and three fireworks permits. Raduns said the town conducted a preliminary inspection for the solar farm on Ridge Road; the town’s engineers will perform a final inspection, he said.
Assessor Julie Cecchini reported the final assessment roll was set by July 1. Highway Superintendent John Olinger said paving on Horan and Bates roads is complete; crews have done a second round of roadside mowing, flushed dead ends and assisted neighboring municipalities with paving.
Village Trustee Jess Marciano urged the town’s participation in the Village of Medina’s National Night Out on Aug. 6. Council reports included an update from Councilman Jeffrey Toussaint that the swim program and summer recreation are going well and a notice from Councilwoman Mary Woodruff that the Hometown Hero banner pamphlet is printed and available at town and village offices and at Rotary Park.
The board approved payment of the presented abstract totaling $216,790.72 (details provided at the meeting) on a motion from Councilman Jeffrey Toussaint, seconded by Councilman Duane Payne; the motion carried 5 Ayes, 0 Nays.
