Ridgeway board approves micro‑paving contract, grants cemetery parking and honors retiring engineer

The Town of Ridgeway Town Board unanimously approved three resolutions at its July 15, 2024 meeting, including a $21,005 contract to micro‑pave the Town Hall parking lot and a temporary parking agreement for a local cemetery group.
Supervisor Brian Napoli called the votes after the resolutions were moved and seconded. Councilman Cliff Barber offered the resolution allowing the Friends of Boxwood Cemetery to use the Glenwood Lake Boat Launch for parking during the group’s Oct. 5 event (rain date Oct. 12); Councilwoman Mary Woodruff seconded. The board adopted the measure on a 5‑0 vote.
The board then adopted Resolution No. 49, offered by Councilwoman Woodruff and seconded by Councilman Jeffrey Toussaint, formally thanking Paul Chatfield for his service as the town’s designated engineer and extending best wishes on his retirement.
Resolution No. 50 authorized the town to accept a $21,005 bid from Suit‑Kote to micro‑pave the Town Hall parking lot at 410 West Avenue. Highway Superintendent John Olinger explained the town received only one bid and said Suit‑Kote "was the only company in the State that has the equipment to do micro‑paving" and that the work "should last a long time." Councilman Barber moved the resolution and Councilman Toussaint seconded; the vote was 5 Ayes, 0 Nays.
All three resolutions recorded the vote as 5 Ayes and 0 Nays. Members listed in the meeting record present for the votes were Supervisor Brian Napoli and council members Jeffrey Toussaint, Duane Payne, Cliff Barber and Mary Woodruff.
The board concluded the business with routine adjournment; the meeting ended at 7:26 PM. The board’s next work session is scheduled for Aug. 13 and the next regular board meeting for Aug. 19, both at Ridgeway Town Hall.
