Hilltop Road sewer replacement to begin July 24; short road closures and door hangers planned

Engineer Richard Longcroy told the Lower Pottsgrove Township Authority on July 10 that Ebert Engineering held a preconstruction meeting with contractor Joao & Bradley on June 29 and is targeting Monday, July 24, to begin Phase One of the Hilltop Road sewer replacement. Longcroy said the work is expected to last about 3–4 weeks.
"We anticipated a start date of Monday, July 24th," Longcroy said, adding that door hanger notices will be delivered to all residents along the affected stretch and that three road-closure signs will be posted at Hilltop and Buchert, Cedar Hill and Hilltop, and Brooke and Hilltop.
Manager Edward Wagner said shop drawings are progressing and that delays related to castings will be managed by reinstalling existing castings now and returning in the fall to install new castings before final paving. The authority characterized the construction impact as temporary and localized to the Hilltop Road segment.
Longcroy and Wagner also noted that flow reductions seen this year bolster plans to request additional Equivalent Dwelling Units (EDUs) from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection later this fall. Wagner said the township has applied for an H2O grant to fund Phase Two (between Cedar Hill and Brook Road) and that the grant award timeline was pushed back to September.
The authority did not adopt any new policy relating to traffic control beyond the planned notices; residents with questions about timing were directed to the township offices for updates. The meeting did not include a formal vote specific to the Hilltop Road construction schedule.
