Dr. Lord said Mrs. Mathther secured a $30,000 grant from the Aronic Foundation, in partnership with Invention Land Education, to support media equipment for a project called "CAB's Creative Commons" that will reimagine the North Primary library as a studio/green room and digital-literacy space. "Part of this $30,000 grant is in conjunction with the Aronic Foundation," he said, describing the funds as earmarked specifically for media equipment.
Board representatives also reported that Northern West Career and Technology received a $25,000 grant (matched by local donations) which purchased five metal lathes for the program. Board reports noted the program has produced more than 1,000 industry certifications and highlighted recent competition awards for students, demonstrating growth in vocational pathways.
The board and superintendent framed these items as investments in hands-on learning and student opportunity; Dr. Lord and multiple board members praised staff and Votech instructors for supporting students into postsecondary and workforce pathways.
What’s next: The district said the North Primary project will be an initial step toward reimagining library spaces across buildings; additional planning and implementation details are expected in future updates.
