Supervisors form Fire & EMS stakeholder committee as part of emergency-services study

The Dickinson Township Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted Resolution 2026-10 March 4 to establish a Fire & EMS Stakeholder Committee, the first formal objective in an ongoing Emergency Services Study.
Chairman Rob Kole introduced the resolution and Vice Chairperson Jennifer DeGaetano moved for adoption; Supervisor Robert Line III seconded the motion and the board approved it unanimously.
Charley Westcott presented January incident statistics and 2025 year-end totals: January calls included Citizens Fire Company 13, Union Fire Company 8, Penn Fire Company 10, and Cumberland-Goodwill EMS 50; 2025 totals reported were Citizens Fire Company 126 calls, Union Fire Company 53, Penn Fire Company 63, Cumberland-Goodwill EMS 218, and Yellow Breeches EMS 115, totaling 242 fire calls and 333 EMS calls for the year. Westcott highlighted a tractor-trailer entrapment and a significant residential fire on Peach Glen Road, and he thanked the board and manager for their work on the fire study, saying the local companies were "impressed by the action taken by this Township."
The committee is intended to bring stakeholders together to review emergency-services delivery and next steps under the study; the board did not take further formal actions on service consolidation or funding at this meeting.
