Dearborn Heights council enters closed sessions on Park Forest litigation and DPW supervisors agreement, later concurs with counsel

Councilman Dababneh moved at 5:05 p.m. that the council go into closed session to discuss the Park Forest Apartments litigation, hold a study session on Premier Group v. City of Dearborn Heights (case no. 25-013485-CK), and later consider the DPW supervisors tentative agreement; Councilwoman Breyer seconded the motion and it was approved by roll call. The motion expressly named officials authorized to attend parts of the closed sessions, including Mayor Beydoun, City Clerk Senia, Chief of Staff Beydoun, Corporation Counsel Mayaki, Assistant Corporation Counsel Sada, and attorney Keith Jablonski, among others.
No members of the public were present for public comment and no in-person or Zoom comments were recorded prior to the closed sessions.
Per a later motion by Councilman Sada, the council set a return-to-open time of 6:00 p.m.; after reconvening the body in open session, Councilman Constant moved that the council "concur with the advice of Assistant Corporation Counsel Keith Jablonski in the Park Forest litigation." The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; the chair announced the motion carried.
The meeting closed with a motion by Councilman Saab to adjourn at 6:02 p.m., seconded by Councilman Constant, and the council approved the adjournment.
Votes and procedural notes: the agenda for the special meeting was approved earlier by voice vote after a motion from Councilman Dababneh and second from Councilwoman Breyer. The roll-call vote to enter the closed sessions recorded affirmative responses from Assemany/Osama man, Nancy Breyer, Robert Constan, Margaret King, Denise Malinowski-Maxwell and Sada; the chair announced the motion carried.
