Martin County signs on for $74,750 regional jail feasibility study with Moseley Architects

Moseley’s scope carries a $48,750 fee for architectural and planning services, Davenport Group would perform a financial analysis for $20,000, and the proposal includes $6,000 for travel expenses, for a total fee of $74,750.
Mr. Bone said Bertie County had discussed the proposal but had not yet taken action and that Chowan County would consider the contract on its upcoming agenda. Commissioner Ronnie Smith said he could foresee a jail being built in Bertie County in the long term and noted potential funding sources for regional projects.
Vice Chairman Dempsey Bond moved to approve the proposal and Commissioner Elmo “Butch” Lilley seconded; the board voted unanimously to authorize the county’s portion of entering the agreement contingent on the joint process described. The motion directs county staff to execute the negotiated contract once all partner counties approve their respective actions.
