SCSBA honors White Oak Baptist Church No. 2; superintendent previews 2026–27 planning

SCSBA President Tim Rhodess said the award honors organizations that make significant contributions to public education and cited the church’s more than decade-long support in organizing back-to-school bashes, providing scholarships and wraparound services for underserved students. "White Oak Baptist Church number two demonstrates first strong leadership and supporting programs aligned with district priorities," Rhodess said in presenting the award.
Superintendent Dr. Alvin Presley delivered a brief report on district planning and celebrations. Presley said the district is in the planning phase for the 2026–27 school year and will convene district leadership for a retreat; he also thanked staff for the school year and recognized Dr. Brandon Dixon as middle school principal of the year for regional honors.
