During the DAI updates portion of the Feb. 9 meeting, Carolyn True summarized several items for the board.
True said the MGT survey is posted on the DAI website and, as of the meeting, 321 completed surveys had been returned: 136 respondents are current participants in senior services, 139 said they do not use senior centers, and 23 were categorized as other. She asked members to continue sharing the survey with senior centers, Centro Hispano and the Deaf community.
DAI is hiring for multiple positions, True said, including a social worker, a service navigator, a part-time senior center assistant, an administrative specialist and a part-time Maryland Access Point intake worker (a temporary, grant-funded role). The minutes record that the SSAB has $2,000 in discretionary funds that must be spent by June 30; members were reminded that goods must be ordered and received by that date.
The minutes state that 987 people were assisted during open enrollment and that DAI reported $759,277 in savings. The minutes also record a per-person savings figure; the minutes do not reconcile that per-person number with the two totals and the board did not clarify the discrepancy during the meeting.
DAI staff also announced two upcoming events: a Wolfsville Community Fair on March 25, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., and the 3rd annual Veterans’ Appreciation Day on May 2, 9 a.m.–12 p.m., at Frederick Health Village.
The board asked staff to continue outreach and to bring follow-up details to future meetings.
