Stanton council honors two deputies and names investigator of the year

The council recognized Deputies Lewis Aguilar and Gustavo Ramos with the Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Medal of Life Saving for pulling fellow officers from harm’s way after a vehicle rammed patrol units at a Shell station on March 31, 2025. The mayor read a certificate commending the deputies’ courage and professionalism. Deputy Aguilar and Deputy Ramos thanked the council and credited colleagues and training for their actions.
The council also presented Investigator Kenneth Murphy with a certificate recognizing him as Stanton’s Orange County Department Deputy of the Year for 2025. A presenter recounted Murphy’s seven years in Stanton, his role training officers and his work on special enforcement and vice teams.
