Planning Board sets deadline for stormwater violation, approves warrants and hears zoning/master-plan updates

The Merrimac Planning Board set a deadline for action on a stormwater violation at 1 High Street, directing that an application be submitted by the Aug. 20, 2024 Planning Board meeting or the Board may involve legal counsel to address the violation.
The Board reviewed and approved a warrant for $2,566.00 to the Merrimac Valley Planning Commission and a $617.40 legal advertisement charge for the East Main Street notice. Member Bill McGowan moved to approve the warrant and transfer; Member Thomas Abisalih seconded and the motion carried, 3–0.
Town consultant Denise McClure updated the Board on the Zoning Bylaw Update, saying revisions are being highlighted for presentation before town meeting. McClure said updates to the Master Plan are nearly complete and expected for review this fall, and a Housing Production Plan draft is expected by the end of the summer. The Board confirmed its next meeting for July 16, 2024 and adjourned at 8:18 p.m.
