The Board of Finance on June 9 approved a $290,000 contract with Tyler Technologies to conduct the townwide 2027 full property revaluation.
The assessor, speaking to the board, explained state requirements and the town's schedule: statistical revaluations occur every five years, with a full physical revaluation required at the 10-year benchmark. The town earlier issued an RFP on April 20 and, of about eight firms invited, Tyler Technologies submitted the only responsive proposal.
"We sent about eight of them... our meeting was in RF RFPs were due to move forward and we got one which is Tyler Technologies," the assessor said, describing the selection process and noting the vendor's long experience working with the town.
Board members discussed prior revaluation expenses, past allocations and the town's capital plan. The assessor noted the firm has worked with the town for more than 20 years and that the $290,000 bid fits within the capital estimates; the board approved funding from CNR.
The board voted to authorize the revaluation contract. The assessor and staff said they will manage the revaluation schedule and report progress to the board as the work proceeds.
