Superintendent outlines CPAC launch, celebrates graduates and state athletic titles

The superintendent opened the report by congratulating nearly 1,250 Carmel High School seniors and thanking board members, families and staff for supporting graduation events.
“We are excited for all that lies ahead for our seniors and we're grateful for the impact that they have made during their time here in Carmel Clay Schools,” the superintendent said, noting multiple spring state championships in boys lacrosse, girls track and field and girls tennis.
The superintendent also outlined a district plan to launch a Special Education Parent Advisory Council (CPAC) in partnership with Mindy Kulie and Cool Abilities. The district will identify two district co-chairs to serve as administrative partners; the first formal CPAC training for principals and special-education leaders is scheduled for July 7, and parent leader outreach and training will continue through July–September, with the council’s first three formal meetings planned for September, October and November.
District leaders said the CPAC will focus on developing a vision, mission, bylaws and founding documents and will be co-facilitated by district co-chairs and Mindy Kulie until the council is prepared to assume full leadership.
The board thanked staff for the update and then moved to adjourn the meeting.
