Castle Dale council approves a package of policy updates, signs and treasurer changes

At the May 14 meeting Castle Dale City Council approved a package of revised municipal policies and a set of administrative housekeeping changes.
The council approved updates to the cash handling policy, the CDC employee handbook, the crossing guard policy, the Castle Dale Fire Department constitution, grievance and hiring policies, incident review and performance review policies, records retention, sidewalk maintenance & inspection, and vehicle backing safety. Maintenance Supervisor Ignacio Arrien told the council the policies will be sent to the Utah Local Governments Trust (the city's insurance program) for review. The council approved the package on a motion by Joel Dorsch, seconded by Glen Gerber.
Separately, the council approved a pay increase for Rebecca Norton now serving as treasurer and approved updates to financial account signatories: adding Siri Jensen to the bank account and removing Carolyn Montgomery and Jody Gerber; Norton was also added to the Public Treasurers' Investment Fund account and Montgomery removed. Council motions covering these items passed unanimously.

Next steps: Staff will submit the approved policies to the Utah Local Governments Trust for review and complete required bank/PTIF paperwork to update signatories.
