Bolton panel delegates approval of 148 Brandy St. pool to wetlands agent with conditions

Ross Lally, chair of the Bolton Inland Wetlands Commission, said the commission voted on Sept. 24 to delegate approval of a proposed in-ground pool at 148 Brandy St. to Alyssa Barroso, the town’s wetlands agent.
Bryan Fairclough described the project as a 23-by-45-foot saltwater pool with surrounding landscaping, noting the property slopes down toward wetlands. Barroso told the commission her review showed the wetlands are closer to the proposed disturbance than initially thought but that she had no objection to moving the application forward under conditions.
Commission members asked for clearer documentation of construction and erosion controls. Vice Chair James Loersch moved to delegate approval to the wetlands agent with specific conditions: submission of a revised plan, extension of the silt fence, dimensions of the disturbance, a written plan for pool drainage, regular inspections by the wetlands agent, and standard erosion- and sediment-control measures. Diane DeNunzio seconded the motion, which carried unanimously, 5-0.
The commission also asked that the chain-link fence location be shown on plans and that the agent confirm how and when any pool drainage would be managed. Barroso was granted authority to approve the application provided those conditions are met.
The next formal record of action will be the wetlands agent’s permit decision under the conditions set by the commission.
