City Manager Jeremy updated the council on several operational items:
Republic trash-can exchange: Jeremy said Republic offered an exchange program to replace damaged residential trash cans at about $109 per can (exchange service). He said buying cans directly from a vendor would be slightly cheaper per unit but would require large up-front inventory and storage; staff plan to return with a formal recommendation.
HopTrail final design and schedule: Jeremy reported the trail consultant has moved toward a final design; staff expect the design to be complete by July and hope to advertise/bid construction with a targeted ground-breaking in September or October.
Granite contract and wells easement: Staff said DocuSign agreements with Granite were circulating and ready to sign; once executed, staff will finalize easement and water-exchange agreements related to nearby wells. Councilors emphasized establishing regular communication with the contractor after contract execution to avoid coordination issues.
Council also heard brief operational updates about flood-control work (plans to solicit bids for a spillway fix) and a trash-can procurement approach; Jeremy said a more formal item will be brought to council next month with costs and contract options.
