The Reading Zoning Hearing Board approved three pending appeals and granted a one-year extension to the Garcia group to comply with conditions of a prior zoning decision.
The board placed on the record three appeals—appeal 2604008 (805 Heaster Lane), appeal 2604-009 (338 North Sixth Street), and appeal 2604-1034 (South Fourth Street)—and a board member moved that those appeals be approved subject to the written conditions in each decision. The motion was seconded and the board approved the items on the record. The chair directed that a conformed copy of the decisions would be sent to the zoning office by Glenda the next day.
Separately, the Garcia group requested additional time to meet conditions from a decision issued last April. Staff confirmed the property had been posted and that required exhibits (notice, proof of publication, proof of posting, the application and attachments, and the City of Reading zoning ordinance as amended) were in the record. The owner requested a one-year extension. A motion to grant one year was made, seconded, and approved; staff said a notice would be sent to inform the applicant of the extension.
Why it matters: these approvals and the extension affect property uses and timelines for compliance in Reading and may influence when permits, inspections, or other administrative steps begin. Parties will receive written notice of outcomes and any follow-up requirements.
What’s next: the conformed decisions will be filed with the zoning office and mailed to involved parties; any conditions listed in the written decisions must be satisfied according to their terms and the granted extension timetable.
